About this tool
Cable routing in the Crafter follows the left chassis rail, similar to the Sprinter. There's a factory grommet behind the battery box (left side engine bay) that you can carefully enlarge for your DC cable run. Ground points: use the chassis bolts, never the body — the Crafter's body is bonded to the chassis through specific earthing straps, and adding random ground points can create ground loops that confuse the CAN bus. I've seen three Crafter builds with random dashboard warning lights traced back to a ground point on the wrong body panel. The fix was always the same: move the leisure battery ground to a proper chassis bolt and the warnings disappeared. The OEM fuse box on the Crafter is CAN bus-controlled — do NOT tap into it with add-a-fuse adapters.
