The Ducato is the most converted van in Europe for good reason — tall ceiling, flat floor, massive cargo area. But its electrical system has quirks you need to know before drilling holes and running cables. The Euro 6 engine's smart alternator is the biggest one.
Ground points on the Ducato are located on the chassis rail behind the driver seat and under the passenger footwell carpet. Don't drill your own ground holes in the body — the Ducato's body panels are thinner than you'd expect and rust quickly at drill points. Use the factory-provided M6 bolts on the chassis.
